Waterproof Shade Sails
With waterproof shade sails, it doesn’t matter if the sun is shining or the clouds have opened up, you’re covered.

Shown here at Ambleside Primary School, Nottingham – the shades really did transform their playground and gave them an extra classroom – outdoors!

Lots of colours to choose from for fabric, posts and padding, so a great addition to any outdoor area.

It’s not just playgrounds that benefit from Shade Structures, they can be used for a number of applications, as illustrated here at Somerset College

Designed, manufactured and installed by our Safe Shade team, this stunning installation at the college adds a stylish edge to their surrounding, while of course offering  a practical, waterproof cover for their footpath.

Waterproof Tension Structures are completely bespoke and work as an ideal solution for walkways, entrances, outdoor eating areas…or perhaps just a striking feature to welcome visitors.

Ambleside Primary Vote for Shade Sails!

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

Just as important as the General Election, Ambleside Primary School’s Shade Sail election!

Ambleside Primary School’s children voted for their favourite design and colours for the Shade Sails being installed into their  Nottingham playground.  The children all coloured in blank Shade Sail design  sheets to get involved and put their own stamp on their playground.  The final design voted by the children was by ‘DJ Rice and Famous’ and stage one of the installation is now happening.

‘It’s been a good experience and it’s fun to choose ourselves what goes up around the school’ – DJ Rice and Famous of Ambleside Primary School, Nottingham.

Ambleside Primary’s Shade Sail project

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

Stage 1 of the Shade Sail installation  has commenced at Ambleside Primary School in Nottingham!
‘It’s a really exciting project for all involved as this is the first time (for us) that the children have been given the responsibility to be involved in every stage of the decision process…the children were so hard working and a pleasure to work with’ Safe Shade’s Operations Manager, Dagan Bradbury.

The children really got their teeth into the project and worked really well together. They looked thoroughly into the design, the importance of having shade in their playground and then presented their findings to the school’s board of Governors.

‘Working with an outside company has been an enjoyable experience and the children will love the sun shades’ comments Louisa a pupil involved in Ambleside Primary School’s Academy project.

Ambleside Primary School

The Safe Shade team are preparing for stage 1 of the installation of Ambleside Primary School’s Shade Sails!  Above are some of the children’s illustrations and ideas from their academy project.  They were tasked with sourcing a Shade Sail supplier, analysing all the different quotations and deciding on the most cost effective solution for two seperate areas in their Nottingham primary school.  And then if that wasn’t enough, they did a very professional  presentation of their findings to the school’s board of Governors. Once the decisions were made on the design and shade prediction, they then focussed on the important bit – colours!  So many to choose from…posts, safety padding and the shade fabric itself!  They all then voted for what they thought would be the best design for their school.  Well done all at Ambleside, we’re really looking forward to seeing the final install!

Thank you Ambleside Primary!

A very big ‘THANK YOU!’ to Mrs Hannon and her academy group at Ambleside Primary School, Nottingham.  For the last 6 weeks Safe Shade have been extremely lucky enough to be involved with the academy group’s assignment to find suitable outdoor shade for 2 areas in their school playground. The children (aged between 9 and 11) were involved with every aspect of the decision making process; from choosing the best quotation and getting involved with the design process and colours, to writing a letter to the school’s Governors and doing a Shade Sail presentation!  The children were all fantastic and a pleasure to work with!  Thank you for choosing Safe Shade and letting us be involved with this very exciting project.  We look forward to posting all the children’s artwork and feedback, and of course to installing your new Shade Sails!!
